Basic Web Page Design is aimed at those who want to learn how to design their own web pages. Skills entail basic HTML and web page design principles as well as how to plan (both technically and aesthetically), construct, maintain, and publish a web page on the internet. This short course focusses on using current web builders.

 

Admission Requirements & Materials

The admission requirements for this short course are NQF Level 4 education (matriculation or equivalent) as well as basic computer skills. Own laptop is preferred (where possible, convenient for customising settings, but PCs are available in the lab), and participants are to bring their own flash drive to contact sessions.

Advanced Web Page Design is a follow-up short course to the Creativity Centre's short course on Basic Web Design and is aimed at those who already possess the basic skills to design web pages and who have the desire to further develop and expand their web design knowledge and skills. In this short course participants are taught how to plan, design, publish and maintain advanced web pages for clients that also include the creation of payment portals. This short course includes advanced CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and Afrihost (or similar), as well as buying domains and setting up nameservers, and maintaining websites.

 

Admission Requirements & Materials

The admission requirements for this short learning programme include NQF Level 4 education (matriculation or equivalent), basic computer literacy and successful completion of the Creativity Centre's short course on Basic Web Design (or proof of equivalent training). Participants will have to obtain and bring their own laptop for continuity of installed items, as well as a flash drive, to contact sessions.

2D Game Development is for indie game developers or those wishing to enter the burgeoning game development industry. No programming experience is necessary in this field, and the short course offers the skills necessary to develop games from concept to finished project. 2D game development is suitable for beginners.
