Vrederfort Dome  

The Vredefort Dome, located about 120 km south-west of Johannesburg, is the world’s oldest and largest known meteorite impact site. Formed over 2 billion years ago, it provides important evidence of Earth’s geological history and the evolution of the planet. Due to erosion and geological activity, it is also one of the only impact sites on Earth that reveals a complete geological profile beneath the crater floor.

Pont de Val Boutique Hotel & Spa is a luxury riverside wine estate and lifestyle destination near Parys in the Free State, situated along the Vaal River.
