Currently, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a relevant and contentious issue in the corporate world, internationally as well as in South Africa. Directly and indirectly, CSR is interwoven into the field of Sustainable Development (SD) and links to all the dimensions thereof.
The research focus is therefore on:
Theme 1: CSR
This research includes issues such as Corporate Social Investment (CSI), Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) and Responsible Corporate Citizenship (RCC). The focus is on both CSR theory (related policy and legislation) and practice, and the vacuum that can be observed between the policy and implementation nexus.
Theme 2: Sustainable Development
This research includes the theory of Sustainable Development, as well as practical applications. Also included in this theme is community development and community engagement research.
