Who are we?

On the Vanderbijlpark Campus we strive to produce a dynamic and innovative student that is able to adapt to changes in the dynamic Southern African communication industry. Emphasis is placed on creative and critical thinking. The programme teaches students about the latest technology and software packages used in the field of communication management, desktop publishing, video editing, etc.

The department is run by a group of dynamic academics who are passionate about their fields and teaching. The latest teaching technology and software packages are used in the classroom to create an engaging learning experience for students.

Written and spoken communication

During the three year undergraduate BA in Communication, students receive are taught the following subfields of communication: communication management, journalism, organisational media, communication for social change, and video (analysis). The degree focuses on teaching students the theoretical aspects of these subfields and the application of the theory in practice. After completing the undergraduate qualification, students can then specialise in journalism in BA Honours in Communication. 

Career options

Communication is crucial for any organisation or industry, be it customer service, internal communication, marketing communication, etc. Career options for students who complete one of the Communication qualifications on the Vanderbijlpark Campus are therefore extensive and allow graduates to pursue careers within the field of communication or to start their own ventures as communication consultants.
