DigiCoP: Digital Community of Practice

DigiCoP is a community of practice dedicated to innovative teaching and learning with technology within the Centre for Digital Humanities (CDH). It provides a collaborative space for lecturers to explore, share, and critically reflect on digital and technology-enhanced approaches in the humanities.

DigiCoP brings together colleagues across Schools and Faculties to:

  • Share practices and experiences in teaching with technology
  • Explore new digital tools and computational methods
  • Foster collaboration and interdisciplinary engagement
  • Reflect on both successes and challenges in technology-enhanced teaching

Throughout the year, DigiCoP hosts a series of online sessions, titled DigiCoP Investigates, where participants engage with emerging trends, tools, and questions related to digital teaching and learning. In addition to online engagements, DigiCoP also hosts a yearly face-to-face event on each campus.

The 2026 programme included:

  • Padlet Workshop
A hands-on session that explored the latest features and possibilities of Padlet for teaching and learning with the NWU licence.
  • Teaching with Technology Showcase
A collegial platform where colleagues from different Schools shared:
    • How they integrate technology into their teaching
    • Tools and approaches they are experimenting with
    • Lessons learned, including challenges and failures

Membership is free and open to all lecturers at the NWU. Just complete the short form to stay up to date about DigiCop activities and events:
