The NWU Policy Lab is a platform where the government, academia, industry and other strategic partners come together to diagnose societal challenges and co-design interventions to address them. The value of partnership lies in what it enables us to achieve together.

Partnerships become powerful when they turn knowledge into opportunity and policy into impact.
The North-West University participated in a strategic engagement at the Union Buildings that brought together the Office of the Presidency, the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), the Royal Bafokeng Institute (RBI), NWU and private-sector representation through Coca-Cola.
At the centre of the conversation was the NWU Policy Lab initiated by AGoPA and opportunities for coordinated intervention across education, skills development and other strategic priorities. The Policy Lab is envisioned as an implementation-focused platform where government, academia and strategic partners can work together to move beyond ideas and translate policy into measurable outcomes. For NWU, this speaks directly to the power of partnership, reach and impact. By connecting our expertise in research, education and innovation with government, industry and communities, we can help create enabling environments in which solutions can be tested, refined and translated into meaningful change.
A critical part of this work is young people. Strengthening the connection between education, skills development and employment means creating clearer pathways from learning to livelihoods and ensuring that young people are equipped to participate meaningfully in a changing economy. Through partnerships such as these, NWU continues to extend the reach of its knowledge beyond our campuses, bringing the right people, expertise and opportunities together to create impact where it matters.
