More about CCIDS

CCIDS

Our Research Themes

Gender and Sexualities

Through cutting edge research, teaching and learning and community engagement activities, the CCIDS as an academic centre aims to develop and implement targeted interventions to combat GBV and sexual harassment, working to dismantle patriarchal norms. The centre will promote a truly inclusive environment for all gender and sexual identities.

Race, Ethnicity, and Belonging

The CCIDS aims to counteract the ingrained legacies of Eurocentric pedagogies and systemic inequities that fuel racial and ethnic discrimination. This will be achieved by fostering knowledge and developing curricula specifically designed to address complex challenges related to racial and ethnic discrimination, and to enhance diverse forms of belonging, drawing from both scholarly research and educational contributions.

Disabilities, Inclusion, and Well-being

The CCIDS aims to address the critical challenges related to mental health, identity-based discrimination, and disability. This will be achieved by contributing to cutting-edge research, impactful community engagement initiatives, and the development of transformative curricula, thereby fostering a university and broader community where every individual, irrespective of ability, feels fully included and robustly supported.
