Choral Conducting

Choral Conducting

Students who enrol for choral conducting will obtain knowledge and insight into the conducting styles and techniques necessary to successfully facilitate the performance of various choral works. They will be guided in understanding the various core aspects of choral conducting and choral singing, such as performance practice (including musical interpretation), choral repertoire, developing and nurturing choristers’ voices, stage etiquette and voice classification. Students will be expected to work with a choir for the duration of their study.

Ultimately, students will be able to critically analyse, synthesize, evaluate and present information on various aspects of choral conducting. They will also be able to apply all the knowledge and skills while working with a choir.
