Jannie le Roux is a versatile teacher and pianist. He commenced his tertiary studies in 2004 at the University of Pretoria, followed by post-graduate studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas under Brian Connelly and at the University of Pretoria under the guidance of Joseph Stanford with a Doctorate in 2014.

He has collaborated with artists like Wessel van Wyk, Zanta Hofmeyr, Magdalena de Vries, in South Africa, and Cho-Liang Lin in the USA. He has performed as soloist with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, University of Pretoria Symphony, Unisa Music Foundation Symphony, Rand Symphony, and Varna Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria. Jannie was the winner of the Unisa DJ Roode Overseas Music Scholarship in 2006 and won an Aardklop Award with collaborative partner, Magdalena de Vries, in 2025.

He served as part of the music department at Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool in Pretoria from 2014-2026 as full time piano teacher and accompanist. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Collaborative Piano Studies at North-West University.
