NWU Wind Ensemble is a dynamic and versatile ensemble that brings together talented musicians from North-West University and the broader Potchefstroom community. Established in 2010 by former School Director, Prof Karendra Devroop, the ensemble has flourished under the direction of André Oosthuizen since 2012
Comprised primarily of School of Music students, the ensemble also welcomes dedicated musicians from across the university and the local community. It explores an exciting and diverse repertoire, regularly performing in and around Potchefstroom. NWU Wind Ensemble has collaborated with esteemed ensembles from across South Africa and beyond, offering its members valuable performance opportunities.
Students have the chance to perform as soloists and showcase their arrangements, making this ensemble a unique platform for both artistic and professional growth.
