In the School of Communication, students learn the skills necessary to become communication, media and public relations practitioners, and informed and critical media producers and consumers. The purpose of our qualifications is to enable students to operate with authority and with great professionalism in the media and corporate environments in profit and non-profit organisations.

The subject groups of Communication, Graphic Design and History of Art are housed here and are run by a team of dynamic academics with a unique combination of career expertise and academic qualifications. The module content is revised regularly to make sure we remain at the forefront of developments in our respective fields.

We strive to produce a dynamic and innovative student who is able to adapt to changes in the southern African and global communication industry. Emphasis is placed on creative and critical thinking. The programmes teach students to use the latest technology and software packages available in the various fields, and the skills to approach communication projects critically.
